The Six Hands

I stayed my friend Fuben's house for 2 weeks.
I though I want to bring community life with fuben to the exhibition space.

We also exhibited the tables and chairs that we actually use at home, the paintings that we decorate, and the things that we don't want to sell. Then, they put up for sale what they made as an extension of their lives.

We spent as much time together in the exhibition space as possible.
I organised this project in order to extend the relationship into an exhibition and to renew my feelings about contemporary art for me by staying at the exhibition site as if I were at home.

Essays written during my stay in Tottori were published and put on sale at the exhibition venue.

鳥取県湯梨浜町で暮らしている生活の中での陶器と彫刻のあり方を考える行商ユニット「フベン」と、記憶書き留めを媒体に作品制作をしている村上美樹による生活圏を広げる作品展示を京都VOU/棒にて開催しました。

フベンとは2月に鳥取にて２週間共同生活をしました。

どこで暮らしていても注文すれば数日でものが手に入る時代に、足りないものを自分たちで作り出し、生活の中に自給していくあり方をフベンとともに提案します。自分の畑で採れすぎた野菜を市場に売りに出るように、自分たちの生活の延長線上において作られた作品の販売、流通を試みます。私たちは生活を第一に、その隣に制作活動を置くことができるよう自身や作品のあり方を模索し、展開します。私たちが生活圏を広げた先、出会えた人たちの目に触れ、手に納まっていくことを願っています。

関係性を展覧会に引き延ばすこと、家にいるように展示場所に滞在することで自分にとっての気持ちの更新をしようと思い企画しました。

展示会場に鳥取滞在中に書いたエッセイを出版、販売。
