Southern Tourist Travelogue

I visited Taiwan's Formosa to experience it. While the Earth is vast and generous, there are many commonalities when digging into its geology. In this research, I visited 観光地＝tourist destinations derived from Taiwan's nature: Wushantou Dam, Alishan, Qigu Salt Mountain, Moon World, Beitou Hot Springs, and Guan-ziling Hot Springs. Although, these places are for apart, but they are merely like mole on the body of the Earth.
As part of the residency exhibition at Absolute Space AIR,I could create as pace to share Formosa, intertwining instagram stories. So Let's sit on a bench and plan a journey with Sock Monkey.

＊観光＝tourism: This word originates from the phrase "the light of observing the country" in Chinese Classic" I-Ching".

私は台湾のフォルモサを感じに訪れました。地球は広く寛大ではありますが、地質を掘ると共通する部分も多々あります。今回のリサーチでは台湾の自然に由来する観光の地を訪れました。烏山頭ダム、阿里山、七股塩山、月世界、北投温泉、関子嶺温泉。それぞれの場所は遠く離れていますが、地球にとってはホクロくらいの大きさの、身体の一部にすぎません。レジデンス成果発表展として、IG と俯廠図を絡め合わせながら、フォルモサを共有する場を作ります。ベンチに座りながら、ソックモンキーと一緒に旅する計画を立てましよう。自然の繋がりがある石碑、石碑ではなく本物の石、消滅し戻ってくるブロンズ像、像はないけど台だけが残っている場所、名前が変えられた碑、日本と台湾との歴史は深く、残っていたり、残っていなかったり、今だからこそ様々な実情を見ることができました。使った靴下と旅に出ることのできる”ソックモンキー＂は私にとっての彫刻作品です。この展示をきっかけに、一緒に記念碑の旅に出てみませんか。
